MCPL Wausau to offer evening with Madison rock band Mourning Dayze

Formed in 1965 in Madison, the garage band Mourning Dayze developed a following playing gigs throughout the Midwest and beyond in the 60s and ’70s. Now, the group will visit Wausau to talk about their musical heyday and to promote a new book about their career on June 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
Members of Mourning Dayze will talk about their rock history and their musical experiences over the years, recently recounted in a new book. The band will also speak about how their music was largely forgotten until it was rediscovered in 2005 and reissued on a compilation. Local musicians will also be present to share their experiences with rock history in the Wausau area.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7230 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5040.
