Local Boy Scout Council battling weather conditions for Scouting for Food Campaign
Scouts will be picking up collection bags for donation to local food pantries this Saturday morning.
Due to the blizzard-like conditions this past weekend, not every Scout unit was able to leave a “Scouting for Food” bag with the usual coverage in Central Wisconsin. However, Scouts are still committed to helping the less fortunate of our neighbors.
If anyone in the community has yet to receive a bright yellow Trig’s grocery bag on their front door, the Samoset Council Scouts are asking the public’s help in doing a good turn by placing donations in any bag or container and placing them in a visible location so they can be retrieved on Saturday morning. This includes Marathon, Portage and Wood counties.
Suggested non-perishable items: Soup, dry pasta, dry mixes, canned foods, boxed food, flour and sugar.
