Marshfield Clinic invites women to free breast health and screening events in Merrill and Wausau
Marshfield Clinic’s breast care navigators are inviting women to two free public events entitled “Women Empowering Women.” These events will be held:
· Monday, March 5th from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Marshfield Clinic Merrill Center
· Saturday, April 7th from 8 – 10 a.m. at the Marshfield Clinic Wausau Center.
Both sites will be offering free mammogram screenings for women who qualify through the Wisconsin Well Woman Program. Those who do not qualify may still schedule an appointment for a mammogram during both events.
Attendees will also learn to understand breast cancer risks, signs, symptoms and how to take action. Light hors d’oeuvre and beverages will be provided. All will receive a wellness gift bag.
“We want to help area women learn how advances in detection and treatment promote new hope for the future,” said Samantha Gruetzmacher, social worker, Marshfield Clinic oncology department and Wisconsin Well Woman Patient Navigator. “Women take care of so many others – we wanted to give them time to take care of themselves.”
“Special thanks to the Wisconsin Well Woman program for their support in making this program possible for women in our area,” said Gruetzmacher.
