Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Campaign short of Christmas goal
The Salvation Army of Wausau has raised approximately $131,000, which is 64% of the 2017 Red Kettle campaign goal of $205,000 with only 3 days left to ring until the campaign’s last day on December 23.
The campaign still has many open two-hour bell ringing slots to be filled now until December 23. Volunteers can call 715-845-4272 or sign up online at www.sawausau.org. New this year is the Text-to-Give program for those that may not carry cash for the red kettles. Donors may text the word “bells” to 91999 to give or can also donate on the website or any red kettle.
The money raised during the Red Kettle campaign stays local and not only helps provide food and toys for over 400 families seeking assistance this holiday, but goes to support other services throughout the year including feeding programs, the transitional living shelter, medical, rent and utility assistance, disaster relief and spiritual comfort without discrimination, to individuals and families.
The Salvation Army is a religious and social services organization that is active in 128 countries worldwide and locally in the Wausau area since 1912.
