Poet to explore gender identity through poetry at MCPL Wausau
Each month, the Marathon County Public Library offers a monthly poetry night where local poets can read their work or experience the works of others. In December, MCPL will offer an extra-special edition of the program when they welcome published poet Annette Grunseth on December 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
Grunseth will read from her 2017 chapbook “Becoming Trans-Parent: One Family’s Journey of Gender Transition,” which explores the topic of gender identity through Grunseth’s perspective of having watched her adult child transition from male to female. Grunseth’s work also provides an awareness about the topic of gender identity and expression. A Q&A session and signing will follow Grunseth’s reading.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7230 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/4049.
