Wisconsin School Board Week
Wausau School District is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate Wisconsin School Board Week. The Wisconsin Association of School Boards established this week as a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected Board of Education plays in our communities. We thank our local School Board members for their commitment to the Wausau community and its children.
“The nine municipalities making up the Wausau School District are incredibly fortunate to be served by our Board of Education, collectively, and our Board of Education members, individually.
Each Board member puts in untold hours listening to constituents, preparing for Board of Education meetings, acting with strategic intent, and being ever mindful of ensuring students are
at the center of decisions. Each and every decision, whether an easy decision or a decision with which they have to grapple at length, resonates as a decision on behalf of students and student
interests. At their core, our Board members stand firm, on behalf of our District’s students, in their commitment to Teach4Me. With the greatest humility and appreciation, I thank our Board
of Education members for their dedicated service,” said Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Schwei.
Members of the Wausau Board of Education include Lance Trollop, President; Theresa Miles, Vice President; Beth Martin, Treasurer; Mary Thao, Clerk; Jeff Leigh, Patrick McKee, Jane Rusch,
Lee Webster, and Kathi Whalen Geiger.
