Peoples donates to St. Anthony’s solar panel project
Peoples State Bank is giving back to the community with their donation of $1,000 to fund two solar panels at St. Anthony Spirituality Center in Marathon. The solar panels will help St. Anthony reduce their energy bills and become more earth-friendly. The check presentation was held at St. Anthony Spirituality Center on September 15, 2017.
“We are grateful for the partnership that Peoples has with our community,” stated Deacon Bryan Hilts of St. Anthony Spirituality Center. “Kaci and Tony from Peoples are awesome to work with.” Tony Braun, VP commercial banking/market leader, and Kaci Sessions, assistant vice president/branch manager are strong community partners in Marathon.
St. Anthony Spirituality Center holds many weekend, evening and day programs that benefit the needs of all ages in the community who visit the center. The solar panel project was started in July of 2017 as a way for the center to use earth-friendly energy and save on future energy costs, cutting St. Anthony’s electric bill by 20 percent. At full solar radiation, the array will save the environment from 37,478 pounds of CO² emissions a year. All donors on this project will have their names displayed on a plaque in the center’s dining room.
“We are committed to being good stewards of all creation. In our day-to-day running of the center, as well as our long-term initiative in securing its future,” stated Deacon Hilts.
