MCPL Wausau’s Sensory Story Time for children to be held Sept. 16
Join the Marathon County Public Library for its monthly story time for children of all abilities! MCPL will offer the next session of its Sensory Story Time on September 16 from 9:15 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at its Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
MCPL’s Sensory Story Time engages all of the senses through movement, stories, music, and play! Each program begins with a 30-minute structured story time that will include stories and activities such as flannel board activities, singing interactive songs, stretching with Thera-Bands, blowing bubbles, parachute play, and walking on a tactile balance beam. Following story time, families are welcome to stay and play and socialize.
This inclusive program is designed to meet the needs of children of all abilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, children who simply have difficulty sitting still, and their typically developing peers. The program is best-suited for children ages 3-6, with a parent or caregiver in attendance.
Sensory Story Time is held monthly, with future dates including October 21, November 18 and December 16.
This event is free and open to the public, with registration required. For more information or to register, call 715-261-7220 or visit https://mcpl.us/events?event_id=3127.
