Mark your calendar to be part of CommUnity Fest 2017!
What is your family doing Saturday, September 23? We hope your plans include having fun for a purpose at United Way of Marathon County’s CommUnity Fest at the Expo Building at Marathon Park. Running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. CommUnity Fest promises to be fun for everyone!
Bring your family to see incredible sculptures constructed of non-perishable food at the event’s United We Can food sculpture contest. Many of the creative, colorful sculptures are interactive and all are amazing! You can be part of United We Can by bringing non-perishable food items or dollar bills—each one buys a vote toward the coveted People’s Choice Award. CommUnity Fest 2016 provided 12,000 pounds and $2,000 and help fill our county’s food pantries at a time of the year when donations are often slow.
Sprinkled throughout the sculptures will be free, fun activities for you and your children. Children can get their photos taken with Tucker the Turtle and other amazing local costumed mascots, create crafts, and play games. Returning this year is the Trucks and Trailers area, where children can get up close and personal with a variety of big vehicles on display. Grab a CommUnity Fest card, collect the stamps, and get your family in the drawing for some great prizes including passes from the Grand Lodge Waterpark Resort!
Food and beverages are available for purchase, a DJ will spin tunes, and much more. You’ll want to be part of CommUnity Fest and check out the fun for a purpose! For more information go to unitedwaymc.org.
