PAWS to Read (MCPL Mosinee)
Children will have the opportunity to read to a friendly pooch as part of the Marathon County Public Library’s Summer Library Program! MCPL will offer a session of “PAWS to Read” on August 21 from 3-4 p.m. at the MCPL Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Kids can practice and improve their literary skills by reading aloud to a well-behaved therapy dog, provided by Therapy Dogs of Central Wisconsin. Duct Tape Palooza (MCPL Athens)
Patrons of all ages are invited to get crafty with duct tape on August 24 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Athens Branch, 221 Caroline St., Athens. Attendees of this event will have the opportunity to make wallets, flowers, coasters, bookmarks and other objects, all with various colors and patterns of duct tape! Free, with all supplies provided. Pokémon Pictionary (MCPL Wausau)
Tween Pokémon fans are challenged to come compete against one another in a game of Pokémon Pictionary on August 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau! Attendees will take turns drawing first-gen Pokémon, earning points for every character you draw and every correct guess you make. The winner will receive a special Poké-prize! LEGO® Block Party (MCPL Marathon City)
Children of all ages and their families are invited to build creative projects using LEGO blocks! The Marathon County Public Library will host its LEGO Block Party on August 25 from 1-2 p.m. at its Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City. All blocks will be provided.
