Join MCPL Wausau for an event that will eclipse all other events
Join the Marathon County Public Library for an out-of-this-world event that’ll keep your eyes on the sky! MCPL will host its Solar Eclipse Viewing Party on August 21 from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the MCPL Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
Kids and adults will find plenty to do as MCPL celebrates the solar eclipse, which will make its way across most of the United States throughout the course of the morning and early afternoon. Folks can make pin-hole viewers to safely view the eclipse with, watch videos about the eclipse, make a sun/earth/moon model, make a yardstick eclipse, create a bathroom tissue solar system and more!
Library staff will also lead folks outside to view the eclipse as it unfolds and will also have eclipse-viewing glasses to give out on a first-come, first-served basis. In case of inclement weather, we’ll view live footage of the eclipse broadcast inside the library.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7230 or visit https://mcpl.us/events?event_id=3632.
