Wausau’s Downtown Employee Appreciation Week (DEAW) is returning on Monday, August 7th and running through Friday, August 11th. The week is a celebration of employees who work in downtown Wausau and features an activity every day ranging from geocaching to a succulent bar.

All week: Geocache Challenge
A weeklong geocaching hunt is a great way to hang out with friends and coworkers while discovering some of our downtown’s best-kept secrets and enter to win $50 to any River District business(es)!

Monday, August 7, 5-8pm: Kick-Off Party with the Local Heroes, City Updates and Geocaching!
We’re kicking off Downtown Employee Appreciation Week with a special show from the Local Heroes at the new stage behind the library and food from Urban Street Bistro! Chris Schock, the city Planning Community and Economic Development Director, will also provide an update on developments in the city, and we’ll have special hidden coupons for you for $5 off at J Gumbo’s Cajun Creole – Wausau Downtown!Street Grins will also be on-hand to transport you in a fun new way from the stage to J. Gumbo’s.

Tuesday, August 8, 5-8pm: Aerial Arts in the Mall
Monarch Aerial Yoga and Dance is a performance like you’ve never experienced! And we’re bringing it to you as a way of saying thanks for being an awesome part of downtown Wausau! We’re hosting a fun after party with Colossal Fossils and Street Grins will be outside if you don’t feel like walking to your car after this fun night!

Wednesday, August 9, 6-8pm: Concert Meet-Up
We’re playing host for a night at Concerts on the Square with some unique opportunities for downtown employees! Street Grins can help tote you and your picnic from the office to the concert. We’ll reveal the plans as the date approaches so be sure to check back!

Thursday, August 10, 10am-2pm: Marketplace Meet-Up with Wausau’s Largest Coffee Break and Succulent Bar
Join us on the 400 Block during Marketplace Thursdays for coffee from The Paisley Mug and if you’ve got a green thumb the succulent bar wil be set up to make your own creation for home or your office.

Thursday, August 10, 6-8pm: Detox to Retox Yoga on the River
We’re heading in to the end of the week with Detoxing along the Wisconsin River with a yoga class taught by the talented Kerri Spromberg! Afterwards (or during for those of you who don’t yoga) Street Grins can help get you to Crostini Bar for the “Retox” portion of the evening, complete with a $5 off coupon good for that night! Friday, August 11, 6-9pm: Wisconsin Woodchucks DEAW Package Special (with fireworks)!
