Aspirus to host diabetes day camp
Aspirus is offering a free diabetes day camp for kids with diabetes between the ages of 6 – 12 on Saturday, Aug. 19. This event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Greenheck Field House, located at 6400 Alderson St. in Weston.
The day camp will give children an opportunity to meet other kids with Type 1 diabetes, learn from each other, and have some indoor fun ice skating and bouncing on inflatables. Ice skate rental will be provided. Activities will be supervised by staff from the Diabetes Education Center.
The day camp is free to attend, but registration is requested by calling the Aspirus Customer Contact Center at 715-847-2380. Attendees should bring their own lunch.
This program is sponsored by the Aspirus Health Foundation, Aspirus Clinics and Aspirus Diabetes Education Center/Nutrition Counseling Center. Funding for this program is generously provided by the EO Johnson Charitable Legacy Fund through the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin.
