Local author and small-scale farmer Stacy Martin to visit MCPL Wausau
Visit the Marathon County Public Library for a special evening with an area author and farmer as she discusses her unique approach to agriculture and reads from her new book! MCPL will host local farmer and writer Stacy Martin on July 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
After years of working at large-scale CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations), Martin decided to combine her interests in rotational grazing, raising animals for food, ecosystem management, and personal development into entrepreneurship to start her own farm in 2016. The farm, which she dubbed MooPoo Ranch, sits on 40 acres she and her husband have owned since 2008.
During her visit to MCPL, Martin will talk about her farm and read from her book One with Nature, One with Love: My personal journey into raising animals, from factories to small-scale food production. A Q&A and book signing will follow the presentation.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7230 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/?event_id=3778.
