Footlocker.com/Eastbay associate awarded $5,000 Foot Locker Foundation Scholarship

Footlocker.com/Eastbay associate Dick Kvapil was awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program. Foot Locker has always been firmly committed to promoting a better world through unique and innovative educational initiatives.
Six years ago, the Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. launched the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program – which reflects the company’s core values and embraces a deep commitment to education and excellence. At the same time, they also launched a scholarship program for Foot Locker, Inc. associates. The Foot Locker Associate Scholarship Program honors associates who demonstrate academic excellence and show their strength of character and passion at work, in school, as well as within their communities.
The program is open to both part- and full-time associates (who have been with the company for a minimum of six months) within the U.S. and across all brands. Each year, the Foundation has expanded the program (from three award recipients to five), and this year, it is awarding 20 associates with a $5,000 one-year scholarship.
“We are incredibly excited that one of the 20 recipients throughout the country happens to be located here in Wausau at the eCommerce headquarters of Foot Locker, Inc. and we couldn’t be happier to honor such a deserving associate,” said Carrie Madson, VP Human Resources.
Dick joined the company in 2007 as an Industrial Engineer Tech and currently holds the role of Industrial Engineer/EDI Manager. Dick is a leader at Footlocker.com and in his community where he is a member of the Village of Kronenwetter Planning Commission. He’s pursuing his Master of Science degree in Supply Chain Management through UW – Platteville.
