Yo-Yo Blast with Dazzling Dave (MCPL Athens)
National Yo-Yo Master Dazzling Dave will awe audiences with his mix of whirling yo-yo tricks on July 10 from 10-11 a.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Athens Branch, 221 Caroline St., Athens! Dave will weave a mix of life lessons into his performance, stressing the fun and hard work that goes into learning a skill such as yo-yo, and will offer yo-yo tips and tricks after the show. Creative Computing for Everyone (MCPL Wausau)
Tweens and teens in grades 4-12 can learn how to use Scratch programming to make a variety of games, stories and animations on July 10 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. Save the Earth Story Time (MCPL Rothschild)
Kids are invited to hear a stories and learn how they can help save the earth on July 11 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Rothschild Branch, 211 N. Grand Ave., Rothschild. Attendees will learn what it means to reduce, reuse and recycle through stories and songs. After, kids can make a fun recycled craft! All supplies provided. Children of all ages and their families are invited to build creative projects using LEGO blocks! The Marathon County Public Library will host its LEGO Block Party on July 11 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at its Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. All blocks will be provided. PAWS to Read (MCPL Rothschild)
Children will have the opportunity to read to a friendly pooch as part of the Marathon County Public Library’s Summer Library Program! MCPL will offer a session of “PAWS to Read” on July 11 from 6-7 p.m. at the MCPL Rothschild Branch, 211 N. Grand Ave., Rothschild. Kids can practice and improve their literary skills by reading aloud to a well-behaved therapy dog, provided by Therapy Dogs of Central Wisconsin. Come in any time during the set time period. It’s Your Move: Family Game Night (MCPL Wausau)
Tired of playing the same old games at home? Come to the Marathon County Public Library for a family game night on July 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the MCPL Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau! Robot Rampage (MCPL Wausau)
Children in grades K-5 can build their own model robots using recycled materials on July 12 from 1-3 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Kids will be challenged to use their creativity and imagination to create a robot out of plastic and cardboard recycled materials. Sensory Story Time (MCPL Wausau)
Join the Marathon County Public Library for its monthly Sensory Story Time on July 15 from 9:15-9:45 a.m. at its Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. This story time includes stories, interactive songs, and soothing activities such as blowing bubbles, parachute play, stretching Thera-bands and more! Best suited for kids ages 3-6 of all abilities, but especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder or who have trouble sitting still. Registration is required.
