Theresa “Terry” M. Topczewski
Theresa “Terry” M. Topczewski, 78, formerly of Hatley, died on Sunday April 9. She was born October 16, 1938 in the town of Reid, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Kasmer and Mary (Beissel) Glatczak. On January 28, 1956, she married Jerome Topczewski. Survivors include: four children, Jerome (Carol) Topczewski Jr., Roxanne (Randy) Wanta, Brenda Bembenek, and Timothy Topczewski all of Hatley; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two half brothers; four siblings and one sister in-law. In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by one sister; one sister in-law and five brother in-laws. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. , Monday, April 17 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. Fr. Greg Bohren will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday 4-7 p.m. and again on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service all at the church. Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Lloyd P. Lang
Lloyd P. Lang, 80, town of Cassel, died on Tuesday, April 11. He was born August 12, 1936 on the family farm in Cassel, the only son of Jacob and Mathilda (Stieber) Lang. On July 16, 1960, he married Antoinette “Toni” Kurtzweil . Survivors include, his wife; seven children, Bruce (Debora) Lang, Marathon, Beth Ann (Rick) Sandrini, Weston, Linda (Brian) Heise, Marathon, Mary Kay (Don) Hagenbucher, Marathon, Carolyn (Steve) Metz, Hazelhurst, Brenda (Wally) Skic, Merrill and Ann (Roger) Seubert, Marathon; 17 grandchildren ; and 11 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandson. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 17 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Visitation will be at St. Mary Catholic Church on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Mark E. Hartman
Mark E. Hartman, 61, Kronenwetter, died Wednesday, April 12. He was born October 11, 1955 in Roscommon, Mich., son of the late Norval and Margaret (Henderson) Hartman. He married Susan Lukensmeyer on October 15, 1994. Survivors include, his wife; one daughter, Samantha Hartman, Wausau; two grandchildren ; two sisters; three nieces; and a loving “Papa” to Jaxon, Hayden and Kali. A family that has been special to him for many years, Becky and Jim Holman, and their children. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1130 Field Road., Kronenwetter. John E. Stubbe
John E. Stubbe, 83, village of Maine, died on Saturday, April 15 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. John was born March 9, 1934, son of the late Edwin and Emma (Marquardt) Stubbe. John graduated from Wausau High School in 1952. On June 2, 1956, he married Marlene Oelke. Survivors include his wife of 60 years ; their sons, John (Valerie) of Athens, Mark (Mary), Joel (Keith Graveen) and Michael (Sara) all of Wausau; eight grandchildren; three great-granddaughters ; three siblings ; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law ; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, village of Maine. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Irene Rose (Dake) Liebers
Irene Rose (Dake) Liebers, 101, Wausau, died on Wednesday, April 12. She was born on August 15, 1915 in the town of Granite Heights, the daughter of Carl and Anna Dake. On May 4, 1935 she married Alfred C. Liebers. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Herman, Merrill, Arlene Krueger, Wausau, and Dennis (Jane), Appleton; one sister; and one brother. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren;23 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren and one expected in September, as well as nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ronald; two brothers; one sister; one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and two great-granddaughters. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 11 a.m. at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau. Friends and family may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Mission Evangelical Church Cemetery, Town of Texas.
Lucille E. Moberg
Lucille E. Moberg, age 87, died in Medford, on April 13. She was born on November 24, 1929 in Wausau, daughter of the late August and Marie Treichel. On November 9, 1948, she married Lloyd Moberg Sr. She is survived by eight children: Judith Kraft, Appleton; Lloyd Jr., Stockton, NJ; Robert (Marian), Appleton; Kevin (Karen), Medford; Jolaine Braun, Stetsonville; Brian, Medford; Darla (Todd) Pitzke, Stetsonville; David (fiancé Jill Rector), Dorchester; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three siblings; three sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents;one daughter, Joanne; one daughter-in-law; and many brothers and sisters in law. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Rick Walters
Rick Walters, 57, died on Thursday, April 13. He was born September 14, 1959 in Wausau to the late Gordon and Mary (Jankovich) Walters. Survivors include three sisters; two brothers and many nieces and nephews. Rick was further preceded in death by one sister and one brother. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Church of St. Anne, 700 W. Bridge St., Wausau. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Homer R. Husband
Homer R. Husband, 91, of Rib Mountain, died on Thursday, April 13. He was born to the late Lewis and Edna (Gordon) Husband on January 22, 1926 in Meridian, Mississippi. Survivors include two sons, Gary (Joan) of Naperville, IL, Gregg (Sharon) and Grant, both of Wausau; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 1995. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, at Rib Mountain Lutheran Church, 3010 Eagle Ave, Wausau (town of Rib Mountain). Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
John “Jack” Desnoyers
John “Jack” Desnoyers, 83, Weston, died on April 8. He was born September 1, 1933 in Wausau, the son of Donald and Ruth (Olson) Desnoyers. He married Barbara Davis on October 10, 1959. He is survived by his wife, two daughters Cheryl (Michael) Ullenbrauck, Anne (Bruce) Pecha; four grandsons; and one great grandson. He is further survived by one cousin. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Chester Stanley Kluck
Chester Stanley Kluck, age 88, died on Sunday, April 9. He was born November 13, 1928 to Harry and Francis (Osowski) Kluck. Chester is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elvera (Muto) Kluck; six children Gary (Tamera) Kluck, Debra (Mark) Oksiuta, Barbara Maria Kluck, Karen (Mark) Mathison, Kevin (Angela) Kluck, Brian (Ann) Kluck; one son-in-law; five siblings; three step-siblings ; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, son Wayne Kluck, and daughter Patricia Chesbrough. He is further survived by his extended family and his lifelong friends. A celebration of Chester’s life will be held in the summer. Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting family at this time.
Marlys Ellenbecker
Marlys Ellenbecker, 68, of Wausau, died on Sunday, April 9. Marlys was born on April 10, 1948, to Ervin and Olga (Yessa) Gruening, in Wausau. She married Bernell Ellenbecker on October 16, 2010. She is survived by her husband; one son Todd (Kathy) Freiberg, Yorkville, IL; one daughter, Tina (Charles) Franks, Katy, TX; six grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; one step son and many other family members. Marlys was preceded in death by her father, mother and sisters. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. John J. Lt. Col. Gordon L. “Horse” Scharnhorst
Retired Lt. Col. Gordon L. Scharnhorst, 85, died April 11. Gordon was born December 30, 1931 in Hermann, Missouri to George and Lillian Scharnhorst. He married Margaret “Maggie” Anderson on March 28, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Scharnhorst, and his wife. He is survived by three children and their spouses: Tim (Lois) Scharnhorst, Eric (Karen) Scharnhorst, and Kathy (Joe) MacDonald. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15th at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home, 948 Grand Avenue, Schofield, WI 54476.
Vicki L. Poplin
Vicki L. Poplin, 55, of Wisconsin died on April 11. She was born September 30, 1961 to David Anderson and Shirley Moore. She is survived by her parents, her husband Robert Poplin Jr.; one son Casey Hill; one sister; two brothers ; her step father and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Monday, April 17 at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home formerly Higgins at 631 E. Grand Ave., Wis. Rapids, with visitation at 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.
Mary Jane Stockheimer
Mary Jane Stockheimer, 84, Mosinee, died Saturday, April 8. Survivors include her three sons, Neal (Kathleen) Stockheimer, Guy Stockheimer and Tim (Debbie) Stockheimer; three grandchildren; and a sister; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stockheimer, on May 15, 2011. Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder.
