Learn about the history of polio in Marathon Co. at MCPL Mosinee Branch
Experience an engaging presentation on polio and the grip it had on Marathon County during “Polio: Scourge of the 1950s and Beyond” on January 9 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee.
Rick Lohr, a retired history teacher and world traveler, will trace the history of polio in Marathon County and tell the personal story of his sister’s illness. Lohr will also speak about vaccines against the disease and about an immunization trip he took to India in 2004. The presentation is part of the History Speaks series offered through the Marathon County Historical Society.
