Eastbay Turkey Trot raises over $43,000 for the Marathon County Hunger Coalition
The 7th annual Eastbay Turkey Trot raised over $43,000 for the Marathon County Hunger Coalition. Eastbay presented a check to the MCHC on Thursday, Dec. 22.
This year’s event was a huge success. Fifteen hundred people participated in the 5k run/walk on Nov. 24. This annual Thanksgiving Day event not only raises funds for the MCHC, but it also creates awareness for people in need during the holiday season. In addition to the money that was raised, 960 pounds of food was donated.
Eastbay thanks all of the participants, volunteers, sponsors and city departments. Because of your support, we’re able to make a huge difference right here in our community.
Dave Eisenreich, Marathon County Hunger Coalition Chair, commented on the event, “Funds raised by the Turkey Trot allow the Marathon County Hunger Coalition to make bulk purchases of nutritious food for area pantries throughout the year. We are truly grateful to the management and employees of Eastbay for their continued support, generosity and dedication to helping those in need.”
