Faith in Action’s 5th annual Gift of Hope Holiday Care Drive
Faith in Action of Marathon County will hold its 5th Annual Gift of Hope Holiday Care Drive on Saturday, Dec. 10. The drive will provide area seniors in need, many of whom are homebound, with hand-delivered care packages containing food and personal care items to brighten their holidays.
If you would like to donate, the following items are appreciated:
- Food items- Canned chicken, tuna or other meat; Saltine cracker sleeves; cereal/oatmeal; canned soup, stew and spaghetti; individual packages of cookies; peanut butter/jelly; canned vegetables and fruits; instant potatoes/rice; hot chocolate mix/tea/coffee.
- Personal care items- Lip balm; hats, gloves, scarves; hand lotion; blankets; shampoo/conditioner; $10 grocery gift cards; toothbrush/toothpaste; puzzle books; body soap; greeting cards; Kleenex.
Donations are accepted at the following locations through Dec. 2:
Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 Adams St., Wausau
First English Lutheran Church, 402 N. 3rd Ave., Wausau
Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 709 Weston Ave., Wausau
Grace United Church of Christ, 535 S. 3rd Ave., Wausau
Christ Lutheran Church, 1300 Townline Rd., Wausau
St. Michael Catholic Church, 611 Stark St., Wausau
Resurrection Catholic Church. 621 N. 2nd St., Wausau
Village Cooperative, 1508 Merrill Ave., Wausau
St. John Lutheran Church, 901 11th St., Mosinee
In addition, volunteers are needed to help assemble the packages on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9–11 a.m. at 630 Adams St., Wausau (located inside of Immanuel Lutheran Church). In addition, volunteers are also needed to help deliver the packages to area seniors in need starting on Saturday, Dec. 10.
